ROKKU GEM ARE THREE VERY UNLIKELY MUSICIANS.
Gemmy, Tutu and Kaya are a Singapore character rock band inspired by familiar local snacks.
Gemmy came from a vintage biscuit tin. Tutu emerged from a food production line marked faulty. Kaya was found between two slices of bread.
After falling together into an unexplained abyss, the three reappeared inside a Peranakan shophouse containing three instruments and an excessive number of amplifiers.
They began playing. Nobody has successfully returned them to their original packaging.

ROKKU GEM LOVES TO PLAY.
Gemmy plays guitar. Tutu plays bass. Kaya plays drums.
Together, they make energetic, family-friendly music shaped by rock, pop and Japanese city pop, with the occasional progressive-rock detour.
ROKKU GEM ARE MADE FROM SNACKS WE GREW UP WITH.
Gem biscuits, tutu kueh and kaya Jam become the starting point for a strange little Singapore world.
Their universe draws from local snack culture, neighbourhood bakeries, vintage confectionery tins and colourful Peranakan shophouses, mixed with Japanese pop culture and a love of rock music.

WHY “ROKKU GEM”?
“Rokku” (ロック) means rock music in Japanese. “Gem” comes from the colourful gem biscuits many of us grew up with.
Together, the name brings together rock music, kawaii character culture and a little Singapore nostalgia.
